TIMESTAMPS

  • 00:00:24 → 00:00:30

  • 00:04:04 → 00:04:11

It can be as dangerous as drinking while driving. It’s that big of a deal to have sleep impairment, just like it is to be impaired with alcohol.

  • 00:09:33 → 00:10:22

When cortisol is chronically elevated night after night, it creates insulin resistance. Your insulin just isn’t as effective at bringing your blood sugar out of the bloodstream. You know, taking your glucose inside your cell to make it available for energy, and instead you go into storage mode. And usually it’s going to park more and more of that excess blood sugar, that excess glucose in the liver, okay? This can start to build up your body stores of body fat. Even though maybe you appear to be lean, you might still have a struggle with visceral fat. Fat in the abdomen, fat that’s stored in the liver, fat that is behind that abdominal wall. Your cells stop responding properly to Insulin signal. The insulin is there, but it cannot do its job of moving glucose inside your cells.
