Mission

Dr. Beverly Yates is on a mission to help 3 Million people heal from type 2 diabetes and prediabetes.

Because diabetes is very responsive to healthy lifestyle changes, she is hopeful to reach this ambitious goal.

By helping people heal from diabetes, she knows this impacts the health of entire families, multiple generations and communities who are faced with the impacts of chronically high levels of blood sugar.

Dr. Yates is a diabetes expert and author who has over 27 years experience of working with those who struggle with blood sugar issues related to type 2 diabetes and prediabetes, and feel like nothing works for them. By addressing the lifestyle factors that trigger blood sugar spikes, Dr. Yates creates breakthrough changes in the habits that cause blood sugar issues. This allows her clients to finally get off of the blood sugar rollercoaster, have more energy, and create the level of health that lets them live the life of their dreams.

She is the creator of the Yates Protocol, a simple and effective lifestyle-based program, for people who have type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, to lower blood sugar levels, achieve healthy A1C and fasting blood sugar levels, and have more energy to live life the way they want to. Using her Systems Approach from her prior career and training as an MIT Electrical Engineer, The Yates Protocol was created in response to the needs of new patients who struggled with their blood sugar levels.

She’s worked with 1,000s of people, helping them to lower their blood sugar levels to a healthy range and get control over their health.

One of the things patients tell Dr. Yates that they like is her ability to connect with people and keep it real. These skills helped her career take a surprise turn when Hollywood knocked on her door. They wanted her knack for making complex things sound simple. She was chosen as the lead doctor for a new 3-doctor panel TV show on ABC. Two versions of the pilot episode were filmed, and in the end the network decided not to greenlight the series. Her journey in Hollywood was fun and taught her a lot of things.

Dr. Yates is an internationally recognized speaker and expert in the fields of diabetes and heart disease, and a published author. Her book, Heart Health for Black Women: A Natural Approach to Healing and Preventing Heart Disease is groundbreaking and addresses the health disparities African American women experience in the US medical and healthcare system that lead to delayed assessments, inadequate treatments and overall worse outcomes compared to other groups. Her book also has lots of hopeful elements, including delicious, easy recipes, and practical tips about what it takes to heal from heart disease and prevent heart disease.

Fun moment – April 2nd is also Dr. Beverly Yates Day in San Rafael, CA.
